Stop Lists

When a number responds to an SMS from DIY Surveys, the platform looks for keywords and replies automatically in line with country requirements.

Keyword Description
STOP Usually indicates that the respondent wants no further messages. Associated keywords and phrases include STOP ALL, CANCEL, END, UNSUBSCRIBE, and QUIT.
HELP Used when a respondent is unsure what to do. In some countries this requires a support response.
INFO Similar to the HELP keyword.

The process

The STOP keyword triggers a special process:

  1. The mobile number is placed on the DIY Surveys STOP List.
  2. You are notified if you have a callback configured.

Note

It is possible to opt out of DIY Surveys STOP List management and refer all STOP messages to your own platform. You must confirm that you agree to support the relevant country regulations. DIY Surveys will still manage numbers for other clients.

Unstopping

The recipient can cancel their stop-list entry by replying with START, YES, or UNSTOP.

Campaign stop process

You can create keywords equivalent to STOP, HELP, and INFO and associate them with a campaign.

Example message:

Thank you for taking part in our survey. Reply CAMPAIGNSTOP to unsubscribe from this program, or STOP to cancel all messages from us.

The campaign is used to distinguish between each STOP-type keyword. This works for shared and non-shared numbers.
